Paul Thomas (b1951) studied at Harrow School of Art (1969-70), Winchester School of Art (1970-73) and The Royal College of Art (1974-77). He was Cheltenham Fellow in Painting (1977-78) and Artist-in-Residence in Drawing at The National Art School, Sydney, Australia (2004-5).

Publications include The Iliad & The Odyssey (2005); Drawing, Cassell (2003); The Trojan War, Making Space (1999) and The Millennium Bestiary, UWE (1995). His work is held in private and public collections in the UK and Australia, including Oxford University, Imperial College, The Burston Collection, The Cheltenham Museum & Art Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Paul Thomas was co-founder of The Jerwood Drawing Prize.
